The Election Committee shall have the duties and obligations as set forth in the Operating Procedures, particularly with regards to planning and executing elections. 

The Election Committee shall use reasonable efforts to coordinate its efforts with the efforts of the Community Engagement Committee to ensure that Uptown community members engaged by the Community Engagement Committee are aware of the opportunity to become a candidate for the UCPG board.

The Elections Committee shall be charged with the maintenance and implementation of the Community Participation and Representation Plan, provided that the UCPG board shall ultimately have the responsibility to ensure the implementation of the Plan.

For the initial election, the Election Committee is composed of volunteers who may not stand for election. As there is not a seated board they will operate independently to manage the election process and will turn over control once the initial board is seated. The will work to align as closely as practical to the operating procedures while still meeting the City Council mandate for a 90 day process.
